Transforming the Future of Girls, Young Mothers, Adolescents with Disabilities and Community
At Adolescent Gate Organization (AGO), we know that investing in adolescents is one of the most powerful ways to break cycles of poverty, exclusion, and inequality. Yet in Tanzania, many girls, young mothers, and adolescents with disabilities remain left behind—denied education, economic opportunity, protection, and support.
Recent data shows the urgency: about 22% of girls aged 15–19 have begun childbearing, and the adolescent birth rate remains high at around 114 births per 1,000 girls.
AGO’s integrated approach addresses these barriers through four strategic, high-impact categories, designed to deliver measurable and sustainable change.
Inclusive Human Capital Development
Building knowledge, skills, wellbeing, and agency for girls and adolescents
Economic Empowerment & Future Readiness
Breaking intergenerational poverty and preparing adolescents for livelihoods
Protection, Participation & Social Transformation
Ensuring safety, voice, leadership, and inclusive social norms
Digital & STEM Empowerment, Protection, Participation & Social Transformation
Ensuring safety, voice, leadership, and inclusive innovation ecosystems
